ACDR Hosts Virtual Experts Roundtable

In partnership with the United Nations Development Program and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, In partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, ACDR convened a Virtual Experts Roundtable on June 11, 2021, bringing together leading practitioners and institutional designers in the field of alternative dispute resolution. The roundtable examined comparative international models for the establishment and governance of ADR centers, focusing on regulatory frameworks, institutional independence, procedural standards, and market development strategies.

Participants analyzed best practices drawn from established arbitration and mediation institutions, assessed their adaptability to Armenia’s legal and economic environment, and identified structural considerations critical to long-term institutional credibility. The discussion also addressed Armenia’s specific opportunities and constraints, including judicial capacity, legislative reform needs, regional positioning, and investor expectations.

The roundtable served as a foundational step in translating comparative expertise into practical implementation strategies, ensuring that the development of Armenia’s ADR infrastructure is informed by international standards while tailored to local institutional realities.
